Heartbreaking news struck the community of Woodstock last week when a single-vehicle rollover crash near Dean Street and Gayle Drive left two occupants of the car in critical condition. Unfortunately, one of the victims, a 29-year-old mother of two, succumbed to her injuries in the hospital.

Swift Response by Emergency Services

A LifeNet helicopter airlifted the driver to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, while the passenger was transported by ambulance to Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital before being airlifted to the same medical centre in Libertyville.

Tragic Outcome for Passenger

Details of the Crash Investigation

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office conducted a preliminary investigation into the incident, revealing that the 2003 Toyota Corolla involved in the crash was travelling southbound on Dean Street. The vehicle veered off the left side of the roadway, re-entered the road, crossed into the northbound lane, and ultimately rolled over, striking a tree before coming to rest on its roof.

Factors Contributing to the Crash

Authorities indicated that alcohol and speed are believed to be contributing factors in the crash. The driver was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the incident, while the passenger was not.
