Seymour Police Department received a report of an unconscious person lying in the roadway. Upon arrival, officers found Charles Layman, 73, of Seymour, with no signs of life. Another 911 call came in from Layman’s daughter, Tiffany Brewer, 33, reporting that she and her father had been hit by a vehicle.

Officers immediately began lifesaving measures on Layman before he was pronounced dead at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour. Brewer was treated for injuries to her face, hand, and leg.
