Additional Arrests Made in Connection with Hassan Sex Scandal

Four more individuals have been detained by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in relation to the alleged abduction of a 47-year-old victim in the Hassan sex scandal. This brings the total number of people in custody to six, including Holenarasipur JDS MLA HD Revanna and his relative Satish Babanna.

The SIT acted on information provided by Babanna, who is accused No. 2 in the case, leading to the arrest of HK Sujay, Madhu, Thimmappa, and Manu. Thimappa, one of the detained individuals, is an advocate. The abduction case against Revanna and Babanna was officially registered by KR Nagar police on May 2.

Location of Incident and Rescue

The victim was rescued from Revanna’s personal assistant Rajashekar’s residence in Kalenahalli, located in Hunsur taluk. However, JDS leader HD Kumaraswamy, brother of Revanna, contested this account, claiming that the woman was apprehended from a different location. Kumaraswamy raised doubts about the victim’s alleged abduction as her statements have yet to be recorded before a magistrate, despite her rescue occurring five days prior.

Legal Proceedings and Bail Hearing

Revanna’s bail plea hearing has been postponed until Monday, with the Special Court for Elected Representatives adjourning the session. Meanwhile, Revanna remains incarcerated at the Parappana Agrahara Central Prison and reportedly struggled to sleep, staying awake until 1 am. He dined within the confines of the jail and took medication before waking up at 5.30 am the following day to peruse Kannada and English newspapers, as there is no television available to him.
