The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has made a significant arrest in the case of a 45-year-old cleric accused of defiling three teenage girls in Agah village, located in Ilorin South local government area of Kwara state.

The arrested cleric, identified as Prophet Olayinka Ajiboye, has been described as a serial rapist who preyed on minors between the ages of 13 and 17 in Agah Village. The NSCDC had been monitoring his activities closely following numerous complaints about his alarming behavior.

On Tuesday, May 7th, 2024, the operatives of the NSCDC Command moved in and apprehended Prophet Olayinka Ajiboye, putting an end to his reign of terror over the vulnerable young girls in the community.

Victims’ Testimonies

One of the victims, Joy Godfrey, bravely came forward to report the harrowing ordeal she experienced at the hands of the cleric. She recounted how Prophet Olayinka Ajiboye lured her into a secluded house in the Sango area of Ilorin and sexually assaulted her. NSCDC Response and Investigation

ASC Ayoola Michael, the Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC in Kwara State, confirmed the arrest and detailed the victims’ testimonies. The suspect has admitted to the crimes, attributing his actions to the influence of evil.

Dr Umar J.G. Mohammed, the Kwara NSCDC State Commandant, has expressed grave concern over the heinous acts committed by the cleric. He has instructed the Gender Unit to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure that the suspect faces the full weight of the law.
