FREMONT — Last month in Fremont, a daring heist straight out of an action movie took place at a local dealership, where thieves drove off with two high-end sports cars worth over $500,000 combined. The stolen vehicles, a Porsche GT3 and a Porsche GT3 RS, were later recovered by the Fremont Police Department, with one suspect already in custody.

The Scene

The theft occurred in the early hours of April 4 at a dealership located in the 5000 block of Cushing Parkway. The perpetrators brazenly drove the cars off the showroom floor and through the dealership’s windows, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake.

The Recovery

After a thorough investigation, officers were able to track down the Porsche GT3 RS in Milpitas just hours after the theft. The vehicle was promptly returned to the dealership. The following day, detectives successfully located the Porsche GT3, along with the suspect responsible for the car heist.

The Arrest

The driver, a 22-year-old man from Hayward, was apprehended by authorities. During the arrest, he attempted to discard a loaded handgun, and a subsequent search of his residence uncovered several high-capacity rifles, stolen goods, cash, and a police radio scanner. The suspect faces multiple charges, including driving or taking a vehicle without consent, conspiracy, and possession of firearms and ammunition as a convicted felon.

While one suspect is now in custody, the search for a second individual involved in the theft is ongoing.
