The incident took place on May 1, when a deputy in North Plains received a report of stolen construction equipment in the vicinity of northwest Commercial Street and northwest 311th Avenue. The owner of the construction company reported that the stolen equipment amounted to a substantial sum.

The Portland Police Bureau is seeking assistance from the public in identifying a suspected burglar.

Following the report, deputies managed to obtain video footage of the suspect and his truck. The footage was shared online by the business owner, leading to a community member identifying the suspect and alerting the authorities.

The alleged thief was identified as Shaun Billman, a 40-year-old resident of Forest Grove. On the following day, Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies visited Billman’s residence.
