Tragic Accident Claims Lives of Six in Rajasthan

PTC News Desk: A devastating accident on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Rajasthan has left six members of a single family dead, with two children sustaining injuries, after their car collided with a truck executing a wrong U-turn. The reckless maneuver by the truck driver resulted in the catastrophic collision.

The incident took place near the Banas river bridge in Sawai Madhopur district, a serene location known for its picturesque landscapes and historical monuments. The area attracts numerous tourists due to its proximity to the Ranthambore National Park, famous for its tiger population and wildlife safaris.

The CCTV footage capturing the accident revealed the apparent negligence on the part of the truck driver. In the footage, the car is seen trailing behind the truck when, abruptly, the truck executes a U-turn, leading to the fatal collision with the car traveling at considerable speed.

Before authorities arrived at the scene, the truck driver fled, leaving behind a scene of devastation. The police promptly secured the truck for further investigation.

The victims, identified as Manish Sharma, Anita Sharma, Satish Sharma, Poonam, Santosh, and Kailash, were en route from Sikar district to the Trinetra Ganesh temple in Ranthambore when tragedy struck.

Additional SP Dinesh Kumar reported that the two injured children have been transferred to Jaipur and are currently in stable condition. Efforts are underway to locate and apprehend the driver responsible for the accident, as identified through CCTV footage.

Expressing condolences, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and Deputy Diya Kumari shared their sympathies for the bereaved families and pledged assistance to those affected.

In a tweet in Hindi, Chief Minister Sharma conveyed, “The news of the death of 6 civilians in a horrific road accident… is extremely sad… instructed to provide all possible help to the affected people.”

Deputy Diya Kumari also expressed her sorrow on Twitter, stating, “Sad news was received about the death of six people in a horrific road accident… I wish the injured a speedy recovery.”
