MILWAUKEE MAN ARRESTED FOR STABBING INCIDENT AT BUS STOP

A 73-year-old man from Milwaukee, identified as Lugene Mitchell, has been accused of stabbing another individual at a bus stop. Mitchell is currently facing a charge of substantial battery.

The incident took place at the bus stop located at 27th and Wisconsin in Milwaukee. On Friday, April 5, Milwaukee police received a call regarding a stabbing at this location.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers and Milwaukee firefighters found the victim, who had been stabbed in the stomach. The victim reported that the altercation occurred when he commented on the loud music being played by the alleged stabber at the bus stop.

According to the victim’s statement to investigators, Mitchell became aggressive when the victim mentioned the loud music. Mitchell then took out a folding knife from a black and gray box and used it to stab the victim in the stomach before fleeing the scene on the purple line.

Following the incident, police conducted a search for the suspect at the same bus stop on Thursday, May 2. They apprehended Mitchell, who was positively identified by the victim. A silver folding knife was found in Mitchell’s possession at the time of his arrest.

During questioning, Mitchell admitted to stabbing the victim, claiming that he felt the victim was invading his personal space. He expressed remorse for his actions and acknowledged that what he did was wrong.

Lugene Mitchell made his initial court appearance in Milwaukee County on Monday, May 6, where a cash bond of $2,000 was set for his release.
