A 40-year-old man, Abiola, has been arrested for allegedly defiling a 14-year-old girl in the restroom of the Olorunloba Mosque in Ijebu-Ode. The man, a longtime member of the mosque, reportedly took advantage of the victim after afternoon prayers on March 4th. The girl, who was using the bathroom, was surprised to find the man standing outside. He then forced her against the wall, causing her to bleed. The survivor reported the incident to her guardian, who took her to a hospital for treatment. The suspect is currently in custody and will be transferred to the State CID in Abeokuta for further investigation.

A 40-year-old man known as Abiola has been taken into custody for the alleged defilement of a 14-year-old girl at the Olorunloba Mosque restroom situated on Ondo Road in the Ijebu-Ode region of the state.
According to reports from Punch, the accused has been a member of the mosque for over 15 years, making the incident even more shocking and disturbing for the community.
On the fateful day of March 4, after the afternoon Muslim prayer at the mosque, the suspect reportedly took advantage of the young victim while she was using the restroom facilities.
The teenage survivor recounted to the authorities that she had gone to the mosque’s bathroom to attend to nature’s call. She shared that she heard a knock on the door shortly after she entered the restroom. Assuming it was her younger brother, who had also come for prayers, she opened the door only to be startled by the sight of the accused standing there.
She explained that she was puzzled as to why Abiola was in the women’s restroom and before she could react, he allegedly pushed her back into the restroom and pinned her against the wall.
The police report on the incident stated,
“As a result of Abiola’s actions, the survivor experienced uncontrollable bleeding from her private parts. She immediately informed her guardian about the harrowing experience, who then rushed her to a nearby general hospital for medical attention.”
Confirming the distressing incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, remarked;
“The suspect has been apprehended and detained on charges of defilement. Once the initial investigation is concluded, he will be transferred to the State CID in Abeokuta for further proceedings.”
