Marquis Earl Savannah, a 19-year-old resident of Blue Springs, now faces felony charges of Murder in the 1st Degree and Armed Criminal Action for his alleged involvement in the incident.

The shocking incident took place on April 13, 2024, at approximately 10:30 p.m., when Blue Springs police officers responded to reports of a shooting at Wilbur Young Park. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered two victims identified as LaDronal Hamilton Jr., a 19-year-old from Kansas City, Missouri, and Karmello Matlock, a 20-year-old from Blue Springs, Missouri.

One of the victims was found in the park’s parking lot near the volleyball courts, while the second victim was located near a basketball court in close proximity.
