A man has been arrested in Joliet, UK, following an investigation into a crash that resulted in the death of a driver and their passenger in February. Jacoby Hamilton, 19, of Crest Hill, was arrested on four counts of reckless homicide after causing the crash that killed Walter Kretzler, 65, and Roxane Holt, 59, both of Joliet. The incident occurred near Black Road and 129th Infantry Drive when Hamilton’s Chevrolet Tahoe collided with a Chevrolet Trailblazer. Despite attempting to flee the scene, Hamilton was apprehended by officers. The Joliet Fire Department attempted to extricate the victims, who were pronounced dead at the scene.

Arrest Made in Fatal Joliet Crash Investigation

The fatal crash occurred on February 18th, when an officer on patrol discovered a collision near Black Road and 129th Infantry Drive in Joliet. A Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by Hamilton, was heading northbound on 129th Infantry Drive and collided with a Chevrolet Trailblazer traveling westbound on Black Road. The impact caused the Trailblazer to overturn onto its side, resulting in the tragic deaths of the driver, Walter Kretzler, 65, and his passenger, Roxane Holt, 59, both residents of Joliet.
The Investigation
Following the crash, Hamilton and an unidentified male passenger attempted to flee the scene. While Hamilton was apprehended by officers, the other individual managed to escape. The Joliet Fire Department worked to extricate Kretzler and Holt from the vehicle, but sadly, both were pronounced dead at the scene.
