Four individuals have been charged after a male juvenile victim was brought to Decatur Morgan Hospital with a gunshot wound. The Decatur Police Department reported that the shooting took place on 7th Ave and the suspect, a 14-year-old male, has been charged with assault – first degree. The victim arrived in a stolen car, which was later found to be in possession of Kaleb Kirk and three juveniles. Stolen guns were also discovered during a search warrant. Suspects Charged

Additionally, Kaleb Kirk and three other juveniles were found to be in possession of a stolen vehicle that was reported missing earlier this year.

Further investigation led to the discovery of stolen firearms during a search of a residence in Southwest Decatur. These weapons were linked to a burglary that occurred at Bama Pawn on April 30, 2024.

Legal Action

Kirk has been charged with receiving stolen property first degree and receiving stolen property second degree. He is currently being held at Morgan County Jail on a $7,500 bond. The three juvenile suspects have also been charged with various offenses, including assault first degree and receiving stolen property.

Following guidance from the Morgan County Juvenile Probation Office, the three juveniles have been transported to the Tennessee Valley Juvenile Detention Facility in Tuscumbia.
