A Southwest Florida native, Rasheen Bailey, is currently in recovery after a terrifying incident involving a crash and shooting along Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard and Michigan Avenue in Fort Myers. The 28-year-old victim was identified in a new report by the Fort Myers Police Department.

Victim’s Background

Bailey, a well-known fishing YouTuber and Instagram influencer with over 740,000 followers under the username “Hoodfishing_entertainment,” is a native of SWFL. He also has a background in sports, having played football for Cape Coral High School from 2012 to 2014.

Details of the Incident

The incident occurred on a Thursday afternoon around 4 p.m. between a pickup truck and Bailey’s red sedan. Witnesses reported that someone in a Ford Expedition fired shots into oncoming traffic, causing Bailey’s vehicle to veer off the road, cross the median, and collide with a Ford F-150.

Janet Maiocco, who witnessed the crash, described the scene as shocking and recalled Bailey, bleeding from the face, running towards her for help. She mentioned that Bailey appeared panicked and afraid, urging her to call 911 before running down the street.

Maiocco, a nurse practitioner, immediately sprang into action, providing assistance to Bailey and the driver of the Ford F-150. She described the injured parties as shaken up but grateful for her help.

NBC2 reporters at the scene noted the extensive damage to Bailey’s sedan, with four bullet holes clearly visible on the passenger side of the vehicle. Erica Jones, whose truck was also hit in the crossfire, narrowly avoided a potentially catastrophic situation.
