Arrests Made After Shooting Incident in Gainesville

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Three individuals, Gregory Frazier, 31, of Ocala; Bruce Wynne Garniss, 20; and Gene Rubin Rowe, Jr., 26, were taken into custody early this morning following a shooting near the 1000 block of W. University Avenue. Garniss was found with a gunshot wound to the leg and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The incident unfolded around 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning when several Gainesville Police Department officers responded to reports of gunshots in the area. Multiple calls came in reporting the gunfire, prompting a swift police response.

One of the responding officers spotted Frazier and Rowe walking south through the parking lot in the 1100 block of Alligator Alley. The men appeared agitated and met up with two others before heading west. One of them could be heard saying, “And you’re going to run?”

They were apprehended by officers in the vicinity, with Garniss discovered hiding in a vehicle with a gunshot wound.
