The victim, identified as 2-year-old Ailahni Sanchez Martinez, was rushed to the hospital by her family but sadly succumbed to her injuries the following day.

According to the investigation by the Woodland Police Department, Julio Navarro-Vidrio, 34, had left his pickup truck running while parked at a gas pump as he went inside the gas station’s store. His 3-year-old child was in the backseat in a car seat. While Navarro-Vidrio was inside the store, the child managed to get out of the car seat and into the driver’s seat.
