Sheriff Tony Epps of Prince Edward County revealed that the fatal shooting took place at a residence in the 1000 block of Fairgrounds Road. The peaceful ambiance of the area was shattered by the sound of gunshots, prompting a swift response from local law enforcement. Johnson quickly emerged as the prime suspect in the case, sparking a widespread search operation aided by K-9 units and the Virginia State Police Aviation unit.
