Armed and Dangerous Warning
Following the incident, Newburgh Heights Police Chief John T. Majoy issued a warning that Rich should be considered armed and dangerous. However, thanks to the swift action of law enforcement officers, Rich was located and arrested in Bratenahl later that night.

At approximately 10:50 p.m., officers in Bratenahl spotted the suspect’s vehicle traveling westbound on I-90. A traffic stop was conducted, and Rich was taken into custody without further incident.

Authorities have identified the victims of the shooting as a 58-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman from Garfield Heights. The tragic event unfolded around 9:25 p.m. on I-77 South, just south of the Grant Avenue onramp.
