A GoFundMe campaign set up for Al Marrach’s family had raised over $35,000 as of Wednesday. The family, consisting of seven children, had fled the war in Syria to start afresh in Canada. Ahmad, a student at Citadel High School in Halifax, was described as being on a positive path of change before his untimely death.
