The Nagpur Crime Branch recently made a breakthrough in a burglary case, arresting a notorious burglar and recovering stolen items worth a staggering ₹6.57 lakh. The accused, identified as Aslam Abdul alias Ashu Khan, aged 20, was apprehended in connection with a ₹8 lakh burglary case in the Jaripatka area. Further investigations led the police to link Khan to two other cases of burglaries, making him a prime suspect in a series of criminal activities in the region.

In a separate incident, a burglar struck the residence of Suresh Lonare, a 56-year-old resident of Nandanvan area, making away with cash and valuables totaling ₹1.54 lakh. Lonare, who was away attending a family function, returned to find his flat broken into and the stolen items missing. The Nandanvan police have registered a case of burglary and are working diligently to track down the culprit responsible for this brazen act of theft.

Meanwhile, in another display of law enforcement vigilance, the Tehsil police arrested a man for smoking ganja at a public place in the Dawa Bazar area. The accused, identified as Shoaib Qureshi, 22, was apprehended during a routine patrol by the police officers. Upon inspection, Qureshi was found smoking ganja, a prohibited substance under the NDPS Act. He has been booked accordingly and will face legal consequences for his actions.

On a different note, a fire broke out at the MR Celebration Hall located off Bharatwada Road, due to a short circuit. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported in the incident, as the multi-storey building was empty at the time of the fire. The blaze caused damage estimated at ₹50,000 to the property but was swiftly contained by the fire department, preventing any further escalation of the situation.
