Patna: A 38-year-old drug addict brutally thrashed his two daughters and a son with a rod over some dispute, resulting in the death of one of the minor daughters at Pana Chhapra village under Motipur police station area in Muzaffarpur district in the wee hours of Saturday. The deceased was identified as Kriti Kumari (7), while her five-year-old brother, Ayushman Kumar, has been admitted to the hospital with severe injuries.

The police have arrested the accused, Abhishek Kumar, son of Shrinarayan Singh, when he returned home in the afternoon and sent to jail. “The man beat up her three children when he reached home early on Saturday. One girl, aged seven, succumbed to her injuries, while the other managed to escape the attack and informed her grandfather (nana), who lives on the outskirts of the village. The police sent the body to Shree Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) for the postmortem. A forensic science lab (FSL) team reached the spot and collected evidence,” said SSP Rakesh Kumar.

RK Pandey, inspector-cum-SHO of Motipur police station, said Abhishek had five kids. Three used to live with him and two kids, including a three-year-old son and a daughter, aged 12, live with his wife Anjali Devi in Sitamarhi.
