Man to Appear in Court for Teenager’s Murder in Leeds
A tragic incident unfolded in Leeds when 18-year-old Jamie Meah was stabbed to death in Hall Lane, Armley on 31 March 2023. The shocking turn of events left the community in a state of shock and mourning.
Arrest Made at Leeds Bradford Airport
West Yorkshire Police wasted no time in their investigation and swiftly arrested Renai Wilks, 22, from Leeds, at Leeds Bradford Airport. Wilks was apprehended on Thursday evening after arriving on a flight from Turkey. He now faces charges of murder in connection with Jamie Meah’s death.
Additional Charges and Court Appearance
Aside from the murder charge, Renai Wilks is also facing charges of attempted murder of a 16-year-old boy who was also stabbed during the incident, as well as possession of a knife. He is scheduled to appear at Leeds Magistrates’ Court on Friday to face these charges.
Police Seeking Other Suspects
While Renai Wilks has been captured, the police are still on the lookout for Aquade Jeffers, Caleb Awe, and Enham Nishat, all now aged 21, in connection with the case. These men are believed to have fled abroad shortly after the incident before they could be identified as suspects.
