Man from Mississippi Arrested for Alleged Capitol Breach

A man from Mississippi, Donald Walker, has been arrested on felony and misdemeanor charges in connection with his alleged involvement in the breach of the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. This incident occurred during a joint session of the U.S. Congress to certify the electoral votes for the 2020 presidential election.

Details of the Incident

According to court documents, Walker, 48, from Kosciusko, Mississippi, was captured on Metropolitan Police Department body-worn camera footage at the West Plaza of the Capitol grounds. He is seen engaging with police officers and attempting to breach the barricades set up to maintain order.

Walker allegedly locked his arm through a bike rack barricade and tried to pull it towards him, despite police officers’ efforts to maintain control of the area. He was then sprayed with a chemical irritant by law enforcement and forced to retreat. However, Walker later re-approached the police line and attempted to wrestle the barricade away from an officer, resulting in another spray of chemical irritant.

Eventually, Walker managed to enter the Capitol building through the Parliamentarian Door at around 2:54 p.m., further escalating the situation.
