Hit-and-Run Tragedy in Florence, Los Angeles
A tragic incident unfolded in the Florence area of Los Angeles, where a 46-year-old man, Ronald Huntley, lost his life in a hit-and-run crash while crossing a street. The incident occurred at approximately 11:05 p.m. on Sunday near Avalon Boulevard and 81st Street, leaving the community in shock.
Details of the Incident
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, detectives investigating the crash found that a potentially white-colored sedan was speeding southbound on Avalon Boulevard. The driver of the vehicle reportedly swerved into the northbound lanes to avoid other vehicles yielding for pedestrians. Tragically, Huntley was struck while crossing east on Avalon Boulevard in an unmarked crosswalk. The vehicle then fled the scene, continuing southbound on Avalon Boulevard from 83rd Street.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics arrived at the scene and pronounced Huntley dead, highlighting the devastating outcome of the hit-and-run incident.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the fatal hit-and-run crash to come forward. A reward of up to $50,000 is being offered for information leading to the suspect’s identification, arrest, and conviction.
