Accident – Death – Obituary News : In a shocking incident in Bhubaneswar, a man abandoned his wife’s body in front of a police outpost at Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital (BBMCH) in Balangir. The deceased, identified as Muni Deep, had been admitted to BBMCH on February 18 and was later shifted to VIMSAR, Burla, on February 25. Tragically, she passed away on Monday night, just a day after her admission.
According to police in Balangir, the husband of the deceased, Krishna Deep, arrived in a vehicle from Burla with his wife’s body and asked the driver to park the vehicle in front of the police outpost. However, he then disappeared, leaving the driver with the body and an unpaid fare of Rs 8,000.
“The driver informed us about the situation, and we tried to contact Krishna but his phone was switched off,” said Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police G Raxa. Police have launched a manhunt for Krishna, who is from Bangomunda, 80 km from Balangir. The body has been placed in a freezer, and a postmortem is scheduled for Wednesday.
“It appears that Krishna was trying to avoid paying the vehicle fare. At this time, no case has been registered against him except for a case of unnatural death,” a police official stated. The authorities are continuing their efforts to locate Krishna and bring him to justice for abandoning his wife’s body in such a callous manner..
