Police Identify Shooter at Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church
Houston, Texas – Police in Houston, Texas have identified the shooter who opened fire at Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church on Sunday as Genesse Ivonne Moreno, according to confirmation from Fox News.
Moreno, who was born as a man named Jeffrey Escalante in El Salvador, has a lengthy criminal record. The incident ended tragically as off-duty police officers at the church responded to the attack, resulting in Moreno’s death.
The Lakewood Church shooting suspect has been identified as Genesse Ivonne Moreno.
A search warrant revealed that Moreno pointed an AR-15 rifle at the responding officers, who acted in self-defense and fired upon her, resulting in her death.
Investigators also discovered that the rifle used in the attack had the message “Free Palestine” written on it. The motive behind the attack is still under investigation.
