LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — In a recent development, the local Metropolitan Police Department (Metro police) has apprehended a suspect in connection with the tragic death of a woman discovered in a hotel room on the iconic Las Vegas Strip.
The suspect, identified as Dandre Owens, a 29-year-old individual, now faces multiple charges, including open murder, carrying a concealed weapon without a permit, and possession of a gun by a prohibited person, according to official records.
The incident unfolded on the early morning of January 29th when law enforcement officers responded to a welfare check request at a hotel located in the 3700 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard.
Upon arrival, the officers discovered a lifeless woman inside a room, bearing a visible gunshot wound. Tragically, medical personnel who promptly arrived at the scene pronounced the victim, identified as 29-year-old Brittani Bailey, deceased.
