Neighbor Pleads Guilty to Murder of Teenage Girl

ARLINGTON, Ind. — In a shocking turn of events, Patrick Scott, the neighbor and boss of 17-year-old Valerie Tindall, has pleaded guilty to her murder. Tindall’s body was discovered buried in a box on Scott’s property, just yards away from her family’s front door.

The search for Tindall lasted for nearly six months, as her devastated family desperately sought answers. Little did they know that Scott had the knowledge of her whereabouts all along.

On January 25, Scott pleaded guilty to one count of murder in Rush County Court, and has been sentenced to 57 years in prison.

Previous reports have revealed the horrifying details of Tindall’s disappearance and the eventual discovery of her murder. She had worked for Scott’s lawn care business, spending most days with him as her employer and neighbor.

Although investigators suspected Scott early on, it took until late November for authorities to uncover the truth. Around 40 federal agents and local law enforcement descended upon Scott’s property, where they found two homemade wooden boxes buried beneath debris. One of the boxes contained Tindall’s lifeless body.

In his confession, Scott admitted that he had not planned to kill Tindall. However, he claimed to have feared that she would seduce him and potentially blackmail him. Scott ultimately strangled Tindall with his belt and left her lifeless body in his office until he purchased materials from Home Depot to construct the wooden box.
