House Fire Incident in Colorado Springs Leads to Detainment of Suspects by Neighbors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – On Friday night, a house fire was reported near downtown Colorado Springs, which resulted in the detention of two suspects by their vigilant neighbors.

The incident took place in the 1200 block of East Willamette Avenue, located north of Boulder Park, at approximately 9:15 p.m. The emergency call reported a house fire, and upon arrival, the police discovered that one suspect had fled to a waiting vehicle.

However, to the surprise of the authorities, other neighbors had already left their homes and successfully detained two suspects at the scene until law enforcement arrived. Further investigation revealed that the suspects were acquainted with the homeowner whose house had caught fire.

During the search, the police found evidence of accelerant used by one of the suspects, indicating a potential arson case. The suspects were later identified as Kenneth Williams and Alexandra Petsche. While one suspect was immediately booked into the jail, the other was taken to the hospital due to an unrelated medical condition and will be booked into the jail upon release, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).

The swift response by the vigilant neighbors and the coordinated efforts of the police ensured the apprehension of the suspects and safeguarded the affected residential area from further harm.
