The incident unfolded on Monday at around 8:30 p.m. when authorities responded to a 911 hang-up call in the 14000 block of Starr Pass. The initial report indicated that someone had been “run over” and that the suspect’s vehicle was a white SUV, potentially a Lexus, which was seen leaving the scene.

Officers soon located a white SUV in the vicinity, covered in dirt, grass, and mud, with noticeable body damage and red paint transfer along the passenger side, according to arrest affidavits.

Upon conducting a traffic stop, law enforcement identified the driver as Duc Van Nguyen, a resident of Davenport.

At the address on Starr Pass, deputies observed large circular marks in the front yard, consistent with a vehicle performing reckless donut maneuvers. Tracks were also visible in a neighboring yard, as documented in the arrest affidavits.

According to the homeowner, Nguyen had been involved in a fight in the basement during the holiday party. Allegedly, he used a billiards cue to harm another individual, causing injuries. As a result, Nguyen was asked to leave the premises.

Once outside, Nguyen entered his vehicle and began recklessly driving in donuts across the front yard, resulting in approximately $1,500 worth of damages, the affidavits state. This disturbance prompted the party guests to exit the residence for safety.

In addition to damaging the yard, Nguyen collided with a parked vehicle, causing an estimated $2,500 in damages, according to the arrest affidavits.

Afterward, the homeowner returned to secure the front door. However, Nguyen approached the entrance and forcefully kicked it in, causing damage to the lock, door, and trim. Upon being confronted by other guests inside the house, Nguyen retreated and exited the premises.

Nguyen then reentered his vehicle and, while attempting to leave, collided with another parked car in the driveway, resulting in approximately $3,500 worth of damages, as documented by the officers in their affidavits.

Law enforcement further alleges that Nguyen drove onto a neighboring property, causing approximately $1,500 in damages. Subsequently, he struck a fire hydrant owned by the City of Asbury, leading to an estimated $8,000 in damages, as stated in the affidavits.
