A Lehigh Valley Man Identified as Victim in Fatal Crash on Pennsylvania Turnpike’s Northeast Extension

A tragic incident occurred on Friday morning in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, where a fatal crash claimed the life of a Lehigh Valley man. The victim has been identified as Sean Terwilliger, aged 40, from Allentown. The Pennsylvania State Police released this information in a news release on Monday.

According to the authorities, Terwilliger was struck by a tractor-trailer while standing on the side of the southbound lanes of the Pennsylvania Turnpike’s Northeast Extension. It was revealed that the victim had been a passenger in a utility truck that had pulled over on the shoulder of the highway. The driver had stopped to check a potentially unsecured load, as stated in the news release by the state police.

Tragically, Terwilliger had exited the vehicle and was standing at the rear when the tractor-trailer, traveling in the southbound lanes, veered into the shoulder and collided with him. The impact proved fatal, claiming the life of the victim.

In addition to striking Terwilliger, the tractor-trailer also sideswiped the utility truck before coming to a halt. The state police reported this detail in their news release.

The news release from the state police did not provide specific information regarding any injuries sustained by others involved in the incident. Furthermore, it did not mention whether the 31-year-old driver of the tractor-trailer, hailing from Eaton Rapids, Michigan, would face any charges in connection with this tragic event.
