Minot Man Arrested for Assault Now Charged with Attempted Murder

MINOT, N.D. – In a shocking turn of events, 34-year-old Scott Flood, a resident of Minot, has been arrested and charged with attempted murder following a violent assault that occurred last month. The suspect now faces severe charges after breaking into a residential property on November 16, where he allegedly attempted to strangle an individual.

According to a spokesperson for the city, the brave victim managed to escape the clutches of their assailant and promptly contacted the authorities, leading to Flood’s arrest. Initially, Flood was charged with burglary, domestic violence, serious bodily injury, and interference with an emergency phone call. However, the city’s prosecutors have now decided to amend the charges, including the heinous crime of attempted murder.

Flood is currently being held in custody at the Ward County Jail, pending further legal proceedings. He appeared before the court for the first time on Thursday. The preliminary hearing and arraignment for Flood are scheduled for December 21.
