Yucca Valley, CA – A 71-year-old substitute teacher is currently under investigation after allegations that she assaulted a high school student at Yucca Valley High School earlier this week. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department responded to the incident on December 4th, following reports of an assault on a student by a staff member.
The staff member in question has been identified as Alice Barbee, a resident of Twentynine Palms. The details leading up to the alleged confrontation are still unclear, and it remains unknown what exactly transpired during the incident. However, authorities have confirmed that the student involved did not sustain any injuries.
School officials and deputies from the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Department have launched a thorough investigation into the allegations. As a result, Alice Barbee has been placed on administrative leave by the Morongo Unified School District pending the conclusion of the investigation.
