Tragic Death of Woman Found Burned Beyond Recognition Leads to Arrest of Boyfriend on Homicide Charge

Burned Vehicle

In a shocking turn of events, Tennessee police have recently made an arrest in connection with a tragic incident that occurred in 2022. The body of a 60-year-old woman, who was found burned beyond recognition, has now led to her longtime boyfriend, Frankie Lee Jones Jr., being charged with homicide. The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department made the announcement on December 4th.

The horrifying discovery took place on September 9th, 2022, when a passing motorist noticed a vehicle engulfed in flames. Firefighters who arrived at the scene to extinguish the fire were met with a gruesome sight – the lifeless body of Ethel Geraldine Kennedy, the victim, was found in the backseat of the vehicle.

Geraldine, as she was fondly known to her loved ones, was described as a unique individual with a strong personality by her grieving family. They wrote in her obituary, “She was her own person, independent of what anyone else felt or thought.” Geraldine, who worked in home healthcare, was known for her versatility and had earned the reputation of being a “jack of all trades”. Her family lovingly remembered her as having a heart of gold, which was her signature trait.

Initially, the police deemed the fire “suspicious” and focused their investigation on Frankie Lee Jones Jr., the victim’s longtime boyfriend. Thanks to the efforts of a retired detective, an extensive investigation led to Jones’ indictment on homicide charges.

The cause of Geraldine’s death could not be determined by the medical examiner, according to a spokesperson from the office.

The arrest of Frankie Lee Jones Jr. took place during a routine traffic stop in neighboring Williamson County on December 1st. Law enforcement discovered that he was wanted in connection with the Nashville case. Subsequently, he was taken into custody and booked in Williamson County. Nashville authorities are expected to transport him to a local jail soon.

At present, there is no information available regarding legal representation for Jones in Davidson County records.

News of the arrest has generated a wave of support and a call for justice on social media platforms. One woman expressed her grief on Facebook, saying, “Justice for Geraldine Kennedy, my auntie. We miss you. Justice will be served.”
