Two Women Arrested and Facing Multiple Charges Following Armed Home Invasion in Toronto’s Church-Wellesley Neighbourhood

Two women have been apprehended by the Toronto police and are now facing a combined total of 28 charges after an alarming armed home invasion that took place in the Church-Wellesley neighbourhood last week.

Responding to a distress call, the Toronto police swiftly arrived on Charles Street East and Church Street intersection on Tuesday, November 14th. According to reports, the victim, who was accompanied by a female acquaintance, heard a knock on their door. Without suspicion, the victim opened the door, only for a woman known to the acquaintance to forcefully enter the premises.

Once inside, the suspect, along with the acquaintance, proceeded to search through the victim’s drawers in search of valuable items. In a brave attempt to intervene, the victim was met with a shocking sight as one of the suspects brandished a handgun.

After successfully taking a sum of money from one of the drawers, the two female suspects hastily fled the area. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.

Following an extensive investigation, law enforcement officials managed to apprehend both suspects on Monday. Furthermore, officers discovered a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun during the arrest. A subsequent search warrant was executed, resulting in the seizure of various items that hold evidentiary value.

The two accused individuals have been identified as 35-year-old Tara Finn and 22-year-old Wendy Tunde Eddy Momoh, both residents of Toronto.

Tara Finn now faces an array of 13 charges, including robbery with a firearm, possession of a weapon, and failing to comply with recognizance, among other similar offenses. On the other hand, Wendy Tunde Eddy Momoh is confronted with 15 charges, which include robbery with a firearm, break enter and commit, pointing a firearm, and careless storage of a firearm, in addition to other related offenses.

Both individuals were expected to make their appearance in court on Tuesday.
