Accident – Death – Obituary News : TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – Tragedy struck Toledo over the weekend as four separate police pursuits led to two fatalities and multiple injuries. The incidents, which unfolded in different locations across the city, have left the community reeling.

One of the pursuits originated in Monroe County, Michigan, and concluded in the parking lot of Meijer off Alexis Road. The suspect’s vehicle collided with a deputy’s cruiser and ultimately crashed into a pole within the parking lot. Dramatic dash and body cam footage captured the arrest of the woman who was behind the wheel. This incident marked just one of the four high-speed chases that plagued Toledo during this unfortunate weekend.

The first pursuit occurred late Friday on Oak Street, situated in Toledo’s east side. Toledo Police attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a male driver, but he defiantly sped away, eventually crashing into a hardware store. Shockingly, two young children and a woman were also present in the vehicle during this reckless escapade. All occupants were rushed to the hospital, but tragically, the driver succumbed to his injuries.

In the early hours of Sunday, around 2:30 a.m., another pursuit unfolded as police were chasing an SUV in the vicinity of Oak and Milton Street. The chase came to an abrupt halt when the SUV collided with a pole. The driver was swiftly apprehended, while two passengers received medical treatment for minor injuries sustained in the crash.

Later on Sunday evening, at approximately 7:30 p.m., Toledo Police engaged in yet another pursuit. This time, they were pursuing a man and a woman who were suspects in a theft case. The suspects’ vehicle crashed into another car near Monroe and Douglas, striking a woman before colliding with a pole. Tragically, the passenger, identified as 22-year-old Micah Hicks, lost their life in the crash. The driver, Tyrone Hoy, now faces charges of aggravated vehicular homicide.

These distressing incidents have left the Toledo community grappling with the consequences of reckless actions and the devastating loss of life. As authorities continue to investigate these pursuits, it serves as a stark reminder of the dangers associated with high-speed chases and the importance of adhering to traffic laws.
