Child Injured in Drive-By Shooting: Suspect Anthony Rocky Guerrero III Sought by Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office

SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are appealing to the public for assistance in locating Anthony Rocky Guerrero III, the prime suspect in a recent drive-by shooting that left a child hospitalized.

According to Sheriff’s Lieutenant Scott Wanamaker, the incident occurred on Sunday evening, shortly after 8:30p.m., when the Shawnee County Communications Center received several distress calls reporting gunshots in the vicinity of the 6700 Block of SW Greencastle Drive.

Within moments, the communications center received an address where a 9-year-old victim had been struck by the gunfire. The child, who was inside their residence at the time, sustained a gunshot wound to their left leg and was promptly transported to a local hospital by EMS for medical treatment. At the time of the shooting, there were three adults and five juveniles present in the home, providing further evidence of the potential danger faced by innocent individuals in this incident.

Following the gunfire, the two suspects involved in the drive-by shooting fled the area on foot before entering a silver passenger car parked in the 6800 Block of SW Rockpost Road. They quickly made their escape, leaving behind a traumatized community and a child fighting for their recovery.
