Accident – Death – Obituary News : Diamond Harris, a 23-year-old woman from Jacksonville, Florida, is now facing two charges of second-degree murder in connection with the deaths of an Uber driver and his passenger. The police have revealed that the passenger, identified as Antonio Tillie Jr., had a $20,000 bounty on his head as part of a gang-related hitman scheme. Harris is being charged alongside Ju’Quan Mills, and both are accused of killing Tillie and the driver, Bryant Grund.

The tragic incident occurred on October 19 when two shooters fired into the car that Grund was driving for Uber, resulting in the deaths of both men. While Tillie was the intended target, Grund was caught in the crossfire. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office had previously arrested Mills on the day of the shooting but had not disclosed the identity of the second suspect. However, they have now revealed that Harris was allegedly involved in luring Tillie to the location where he was killed and discharged a firearm, causing the deaths of both victims.

The reason behind the upgraded charges against Harris has not been disclosed by prosecutors. However, a document from the State Attorney’s Office states that Harris “did actually possess and discharge a firearm,” leading to death or great bodily harm. The exact details surrounding the motive for the murders and the gang-related hitman scheme have not been revealed.

According to Mills’ arrest report, he confessed to police that Tillie had a $20,000 bounty on his head, and he received $10,000 for carrying out the hit along with another shooter. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office was alerted to the shooting when gunshots were reported at a residence on Kylan Drive West. Upon arrival, they discovered a Mini Cooper Clubvan crashed into a home, with Grund found in the driver’s seat and Tillie in the backseat, both suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Sadly, they were pronounced dead at the scene.

During the investigation, it was revealed that Tillie had been heading to the area to meet a woman, possibly for a date. The report states that there was a target for the homicide, and Tillie was shot due to ongoing gang conflicts. Investigators also found evidence on Tillie’s cell phone, linking him to Diamond Harris through Instagram messages and calls.

In her interview with detectives, Harris admitted to communicating with Tillie through Instagram, voice calls, and text messages but denied providing him with the location where he was ultimately killed. However, evidence from Tillie’s phone contradicted Harris’ statement, revealing their continued contact until his death. Detectives found text threads on Harris’ phone between her and Mills, discussing how to keep Tillie interested and lure him to her location.

Further examination of Mills’ phone revealed that he was present at the scene during the time of the murders. Initially, he denied any involvement and claimed to be at a 24-hour laundry mat with a friend. However, he eventually consented to detectives viewing his phone and admitted to using his baby mama’s Instagram account to message and speak to Tillie. Mills confessed to shooting both victims alongside another suspect.

As of now, Harris and Mills are not in jail but are under house arrest. They are represented by public defenders, and Harris’ arraignment is scheduled for November 22. The bonds set for the two defendants are $250,003 for Harris and $750,000 for Mills.

The tragic case has shocked the community and highlights the dangers faced by Uber drivers and passengers. The investigation into the gang-related hitman scheme and the motive behind Tillie’s targeted killing is ongoing, and further details are expected to emerge in due course..
