Born on November 15, 1947, in Pasadena, California, Bill Richardson was raised in Mexico City and later attended Tufts University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. He then went on to obtain a Master’s degree in international affairs from the Tufts Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
Richardson’s political career began in the 1970s when he worked for the U.S. State Department and the House of Representatives. In 1982, he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, where he served for 14 years. During his time in Congress, Richardson gained a reputation for his dedication to human rights and his tireless efforts to promote peace and stability in the world.
