Shayne’s life was a testament to love, family, and a deep passion for technology and sports. He will be dearly missed, but his memory will forever be cherished in our hearts.
Shayne McDonough was not only a beloved son, grandson, and nephew but also the adored uncle of Kaila Shea. His family tree is adorned with names that hold a special place in our hearts, including his late grandparents Frank R. McDonough and Catherine (Bushe), as well as Martin J. and Shirley (Blair) Flynn, Kier McDonough and Monica King McAfee, Blair and Michael Flynn, and John M., Robert, Gerard, and Neal McDonough. Shayne was also the godson and nephew of Kier McDonough. He shared a special bond with his numerous cousins and friends in both the United States and Ireland.
In addition to his love for family, Shayne had a deep affection for animals. His pets, Eugene and Sally in Cape Cod, and Jameson and Rocky in Ireland, were not just animals to him but cherished members of his family. Shayne’s educational journey took him from elementary school in Brookline to middle school in Cape Cod before culminating in his high school years there. Fuelled by his passion for technology, he pursued further studies at the Galway Mayo Institute of Technology in Galway, Ireland, where he honed his skills. His ambition was to continue his education in music technology at the prestigious New England School of Art in Boston.
While Shayne excelled academically, he was also a true sports enthusiast. He actively participated in various sports, leaving a lasting impact in each one. From his early days in Little League baseball, soccer, and hockey in Brookline to his involvement in Junior Recreation, Babe Ruth, Silver Bullets, and Barnstable High School football in Barnstable, Shayne’s dedication and love for sports were evident in all his endeavors. His athletic presence and passion for competition will be deeply missed.
As we mourn the loss of Shayne, we find solace in the memories he left behind. His warm spirit, love for technology, and dedication to sports touched all those fortunate enough to have known him.
