death – Obituary News : Tragic death of 14-Year-Old Teen in Boating Accident at Lake Travis High School

Kaden Forke, a 14-year-old teenager, tragically lost his life on Monday, just days before starting his freshman year at Lake Travis High School. The heartbreaking incident occurred while Forke was on a boat with six other individuals, and it took a devastating turn when he lost control and collided with a nearby bank.

The severity of the collision resulted in four additional people being rushed to nearby medical facilities for treatment of their injuries. Unfortunately, Forke was pronounced dead at the scene, leaving his family, friends, and the Lake Travis community in mourning.

During a news conference held on Monday, Capt. Darren Noak of Austin-Travis County EMS expressed concern over the narrowness of the lake. Capt. Noak emphasized that due to its limited width, the lake has a tendency to fill up rapidly, making it a potentially dangerous environment for boating. He further explained that the presence of multiple cross currents and wakes increases the risk of accidents, even for those who are driving at slower speeds.

The cause of Forke’s death was revealed by witness James Wood, who informed Fox 7 that it appeared as though a substantial cypress tree had been severed in the middle, with the boat getting caught in its branches. Wood recounted the immediate aftermath of the accident, stating that a diving team had been deployed and had informed him of the possibility of a missing individual or someone being submerged underwater.

Forke had been a dedicated member of the esteemed Audio Visual Production/Broadcast program at Hudson Bend High School. The principal of Lake Travis Elementary School, where Forke began his academic journey as a pre-K student, expressed deep sorrow over his loss, describing it as a tragic blow to the entire school community.

Known as a “LT Lifer,” Forke had been a part of the Lake Travis family since his early years. He successfully completed eighth grade at Hudson Bend High School in May while actively participating in track and field activities and being a member of the Audio Visual Production / Broadcast program.

The GoFundMe campaign established to assist with the funeral and memorial expenses has already raised nearly $30,000 as of Friday night. The campaign was set up to support Forke’s mother, Jennifer, who currently works as a monitor at Lake Travis Elementary School.

The tragic death of Kaden Forke has left a void in the hearts of his loved ones and the entire Lake Travis community. As they come to terms with this devastating loss, they are united in their grief and remember Forke for his dedication, talent, and bright spirit..
