Myron Domangue Passes Away at the Age of 85

Obituary: Myron Aubrey “Mickey” Domangue

Houma mourns the loss of Myron Aubrey “Mickey” Domangue, a beloved resident who dedicated his entire life to the community. Born and raised in Houma, Mickey sadly passed away on August 16, 2023, at the age of 85. Having left an indelible mark on the town, his legacy will be remembered for generations to come.

Mickey is survived by his three daughters, Renee’ D. Magee, Jana Sue Domangue, and Joe’l D. LeCompte, also known as Bobby. His daughters continue to carry on his spirit and his love for Houma.

Throughout his life, Mickey experienced the joys and sorrows that come with being human. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jewel Domangue, his second wife, Kelley Domangue, his grandson, Scott Hempel, his parents, Milton and Stella LeCompte Domangue, and his brothers, Lewellyn, Raynold “Chee”, and Daniel Domangue, Sr. However, his memory lives on through his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

His grandkids, Georgia Malbrough (Brannon), Ross Dover (Paige), Garrett Melancon, and Samuel Magee (Megan), were the light of his life. He cherished the time spent with them and shared many precious memories. Mickey’s great-grandchildren, Ollie, Owen, and Hunter Malbrough, Ari and Jewel Dover, and Scott Magee, brought immense joy and happiness to his later years.

Mickey’s passion for music was evident throughout his life. A talented drummer, he performed with numerous bands, including the popular group “Piece of Cake.” His performances not only entertained audiences but also brought joy to the elderly residents of local nursing homes. Mickey’s dedication to providing music for the elderly showcased his compassionate nature and love for his community.

Aside from his musical pursuits, Mickey had a deep affection for his canine companions, especially his beloved Sarah. Their loyalty and companionship brought him immeasurable happiness and comfort.

Known for his tremendous sense of humor, Mickey always had a joke or witty remark to share. Although his jokes sometimes made his children feel uncomfortable, they will forever cherish the memories of their father’s infectious laughter and playful banter. His unique sense of humor endeared him to everyone who knew and loved him.

While the loss of Mickey is deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him, the automotive dealership business in Houma will particularly mourn his passing. Mickey had established strong connections within the industry and was highly respected by his colleagues. His absence leaves a void that will be difficult to fill.
