A Sudden Loss Leaves Moncton Community in Grief

Moncton, New Brunswick – The tight-knit community of Moncton, New Brunswick, is mourning the sudden and unexpected loss of Daniel “Goose” Emmette Gilbert. At the age of 38, Gilbert tragically passed away in his current residence, leaving family, friends, and the entire community devastated.
A Beloved Son and Sibling
Born and raised in Moncton, Daniel Gilbert was a cherished son, sibling, and friend. His mother, Marguerit Gilbert, hails from Springhill, Nova Scotia, while his father, Gary Gilbert, was a Moncton native. Daniel was given his mother’s surname at birth, symbolizing the strong bond he shared with his maternal side.
Survived by his parents, Daniel leaves a void that cannot be filled. His passing also deeply impacts his siblings, Jill and Richard, residing in Truro, Nova Scotia, and Moncton, New Brunswick, respectively. Antonie, his younger sibling and fellow Moncton resident, is also grappling with the profound loss. Additionally, Daniel is survived by his adoring nieces, Vaeh and Ayla, as well as his maternal grandmother, Marjorie, residing in Amherst. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom are mourning his untimely departure.
A Heartfelt Farewell
Unfortunately, Daniel never had the opportunity to meet his grandparents on his mother’s side, Mutt and Mary, as well as his stepfather, Brian, as they had all passed away before his birth. Tragically, his paternal grandfather, Beck, also preceded him in death.
