A Philippine Navy officer shot and killed one of two suspected robbers inside his house in Imus City, Cavite. The officer managed to grab the firearm of one of the intruders and shoot him, resulting in his death. The other suspect was subsequently arrested. Further investigation is underway. Delfin T. In Imus City, Cavite, early Friday, August 18, a Philippine Navy (PN) officer shot and killed one of the two suspected robbers who entered his house. According to the report from Police Region 4A, the PN officer, Marvin Celis, was resting in his house in Barangay Malagasang 1G at 2:10 a.m. when the two men broke in and announced a hold-up. Celis was able to grab the firearm from one of the intruders, identified as Abraham Banawa, and shot him. Banawa died instantly from the gunshot wound. Celis then apprehended Banahaw’s accomplice, Rohclem Maligaya, and handed him over to the responding police officers. It is unclear if Maligaya was also armed. The police are currently conducting further investigations.
