A 50-year-old man named Ajay Singh, who works as a security guard in Gurgaon’s Nathupur village, was taken into custody on Wednesday for allegedly shooting and killing his 29-year-old neighbor, Pintu Kumar. Both the victim and the accused were security guards themselves. According to investigators, Singh, originally from Kasganj in Uttar Pradesh, had a dispute with Kumar after his wife accused Kumar of stealing her sari. The argument escalated, and Singh fired shots at Kumar using his licensed rifle. Kumar was rushed to a private hospital but was declared dead. The incident occurred on Tuesday, and a case was registered based on a statement from Kumar’s friend, who tried to intervene. Singh was later apprehended by the police. During questioning, Singh admitted to living in Nathupur since 2005 and obtaining an arms license from Uttar Pradesh in 2002. He also revealed that the argument took place while he was leaving for work as a security guard at MG Road. Singh claimed that Kumar slapped him, prompting him to shoot Kumar in the abdomen, resulting in his death. The police recovered the rifle, two empty cartridges, and Singh’s arms license from his possession..
