The victim, Hugo Vinicius Skulny Pedrosa, went missing on June 25 after attending an event hosted by his ex-girlfriend Rubia Joice de Oliver Luvisetto. His dismembered body parts were later discovered along a river near the border of Brazil and Paraguay. Despite initially only finding certain body parts, the police were able to identify the victim through a tattoo bearing his deceased father’s name. The suspect, Vieira da Silva, is accused of shooting Hugo before dismembering his body at a family-owned farm. Hugo’s girlfriend has also been arrested in connection with the case. The victim’s family endured two months of anguish before their worst fears were confirmed, and they are still waiting for the discovery of Hugo’s head. Hugo was a college freshman studying physical education and played for a local club. The investigation is ongoing as authorities seek additional information..
