The deceased, named Victoria Dickerson, was a 22-year-old resident of Charleston, as confirmed by Charleston County Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal. On Thursday, a distress call was made to authorities regarding the presence of a naked woman’s body washed ashore in the 300 block of West Ashley Avenue at approximately 5:33 a.m. Deputy Chief Rocky Burke stated that both Folly Beach medical personnel and the Charleston County Coroner’s Office promptly attended the scene. The exact cause of death is yet to be determined pending further investigation and an autopsy, according to O’Neal, who also revealed that Dickerson had passed away on Wednesday.
