“57-year-old man killed in armed robbery and carjacking in Baltimore”

A 57-year-old man was killed during an armed robbery and carjacking in Baltimore’s Canton neighborhood. The victim, identified as Darrell Brenner, was shot after chasing the suspects who had robbed his relative. The suspects fled the scene with the stolen property and the victim’s red Dodge Charger. Homicide detectives are seeking information from the public to help solve the case. WBAL reported

A 57-year-old man was tragically killed in the early hours of Friday morning during an armed robbery and carjacking incident in the Canton neighborhood of Baltimore. Police were alerted to the scene at around 12:30 a.m. following reports of a shooting on South Curley Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered the lifeless body of a 57-year-old male who had sustained a gunshot wound. Despite the arrival of medical personnel, the victim, identified as Darrell Brenner from Baltimore, was pronounced dead.

Authorities conducted an investigation into the incident and determined that a 29-year-old relative of the victim had been approached by three unidentified Black male suspects who were armed while he was on South Curley Street. The 29-year-old was subsequently robbed. During the course of the robbery, Brenner retrieved a firearm from his residence and pursued the suspects in an attempt to recover the stolen items.

Tragically, as the suspects made their getaway with the 29-year-old’s belongings and his red Dodge Charger (bearing Maryland license plate #3FL1240), they fired shots at Brenner, striking him fatally. Homicide Detectives are now appealing to the public for any information that may assist in their investigation.
