The individual responsible for the fatal incident involving a single vehicle crash in Chantilly on Wednesday has been identified as Angel Hernandez Perez, a 22-year-old resident of Manassas. The tragic accident took place around 8 p.m. in the vicinity of Bull Run Post Office Road and Cedar Ridge Boulevard in Chantilly.

According to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, Hernandez Perez was driving a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta, heading southbound on Bull Run Post Office Road when the vehicle veered off the road, flipped over, and collided with a utility pole. Sadly, this resulted in the loss of life.

Fortunately, the passenger in the car was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and has since been discharged. Both the driver and the passenger were properly restrained with seatbelts at the time of the incident. However, it is suspected that excessive speed and the consumption of alcohol played a role in the occurrence, as stated by the sheriff’s office.
