Since then, detectives have been tirelessly investigating the case and searching for an unidentified male suspect.

On Wednesday, the Calcasieu Parish Coroner’s Office delivered the somber news to the Lake Charles Police Department that the victim had succumbed to her injuries. Consequently, the investigation has now shifted its focus to a homicide inquiry. The victim has been identified as Sherry Vincent, a 75-year-old resident of Lake Charles.
