EVANSTON, Ill. (WLS) — A woman has tragically lost her life after being struck by a vehicle in the northern suburbs of Evanston on the evening of Tuesday.
According to eyewitnesses, the woman was attempting to cross Central Street in the 1300 block when the accident occurred. She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital but sadly succumbed to her injuries.
The responsible driver remained at the scene and is actively cooperating with the ongoing investigation, as stated by the police.
The deceased victim has been identified as Rabia Ahmad, aged 60, hailing from Lincolnwood.
